Unseen: The One

Monday, March 24, 2008

I play guitar and sing background vocals for a group called Unseen. The other members of the group include Jason Allen on bass, Jeremy Hendricks on drums and Mitchell Agee on vocals. We just had our 3rd practice this last Sunday and things are starting to come together very nicely. So far we’ve been learning some songs I’ve written over the last few years, which is very humbling. Here is a video from our last practice playing a song called “The One”. It’s a little heard to hear some of the parts but oh well. I’d love your comments and feedback! I’ve also included the lyrics below.

The One

Words and music by Evan Agee

I see you as the night turns to day
The sun begins to shine, forgetting all the troubles of yesterday
I see you and the clouds roll away
The sky bares its blue, for you

You’re nothing like my mother and you’re nothing like my friends
and you’re nothing like the woman like the woman I thought I would be with
and you’re nothing like the girls that I’m always chasing after
oh you’re nothing, nothing but the one.

I had heard when I found the girl for me
love would take control and guide us to our destiny
I had heard everyone has someone
one that’s meant to be for you

You’re nothing like my mother and you’re nothing like my friends
and you’re nothing like the woman like the woman I thought I would be with
and you’re nothing like the girls that I’m always chasing after
oh you’re nothing, nothing but the one.

Getting into podcasting!

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

For almost a year I’ve had a seldom updated Vidcast, the EvanAgee.com Vidcast. It has been mostly a video diary series but I’m hoping to change that soon to include videos related to the things that I’m interested in such as web development/design, graphic design, photography, music, etc. It’s now on iTunes so if you’d like to subscribe I’d greatly appreciate it.

The church I attend, First Baptist Church of Richmond Indiana is also now podcasting! We finally got a new computer in our sound booth (a 20″ iMac) so now we’re recording the services digitally and releasing the sermon portion of the service online. You can check that out on iTunes as well. I’m really enjoying working on our church’s podcast, not something I get to do often.

For work I’ve been getting into some video-related work as well. We’re adding a component for uploading video that will subsequently be streamed via our video streaming server. It’s something that’s hard to troubleshoot and requires a bit of time but it’s great fun.

Some other great news is that the band I played with a couple of years back, Unseen, is reforming with a slightly altered lineup. This time around we’re playing mostly original music that I’ve written and we’re in the process of writing more. My brother Mitchell is going to be our vocalist so I’m really excited about that. He can sing well and it’ll be great to have a chance to spend more time together.

The Upcoming Anchor Service

Monday, March 14, 2005

Saturday, March 26th is going to be the second monthly Anchor service at First United Methodist Church. Last month was our first service and it was excellent. The Spirit was really moving in that basement that night. :) It was wonderful to be able to experience such a worshipful event.

We (the band) are really looking forward to leading worship and providing music for the evening and that attendance will be at least as good as last time, if not better. The Anchor isn’t really a Christian Coffee House, but it is laid back in nature, though the music is loud.

If you’re available that Saturday night, you owe it to yourself to be there!

What Is Unseen.com

Thursday, February 24, 2005

I’ve mentioned the website for Unseen on here a couple of times, but I thought that it was worth mentioning that I made some updates to it last night. Mainly there’s actually information on there now. If you’d like you can check it out at http://www.whatisunseen.com/. It’s not finished, but it’s taking shape.

One thing that we’re going to be incorporating into the site at some point are resources for people interested in Christian books, movies and music. We hope to have a reviews and rating system setup so we can make recommendations. We’ll see what happens with that, it’s a lot of work.

Enough on that for now, how about you bookmark the Unseen website and check it out once in a while? Or, take advantage of the easy-to-remember domain and memorize it. :)

Praising through Music

Monday, February 21, 2005

If you’ve been coming to this site for the last few months, you’ve seen my mentions of Unseen, the praise band that I’m playing in now. Well, last week we took steps towards making things official by starting a website. You can visit the website at http://www.whatisunseen.com. There’s not much there right now, but it’s going to be a great ministry once we finalize some ideas.

We’re gearing up to play for the first monthly “The Anchor” service this Saturday. It’s going to be a great, loud time and I’m sure that it will go very well. I only hope that people will pop out of the woodwork and surprise us. It would be awesome to have a ton of people there.

I’ve been doing a lot of work on the church website still and it’s really starting to turn into something very nice and useful. I’m constantly tweeking things, but you can really get a sense of the scale of the site when you visit it. There’s a lot of info there.

Well, I guess that’s it for now, I’m sure that I’ll post some more Unseen news on here as it becomes available, but you might want to add www.whatisunseen.com to your bookmarks to keep up with us.
