Just a lil’ update

Monday, July 26, 2004

Haven’t written in a while, but that can be credited to my somewhat busy work schedule lately. There hasn’t been much going on really. Joene and Austin (my step-mom and brother) were in town for the last week and stayed with us Friday night and Saturday night. We had a great time going out to eat and other fun stuff. We also played a good amount of old Nintendo games, which was fun. Kristen and I are now trying to work our way through Super Mario Bros. on the Super Nintendo.

This week is going to be another busy one. We’re supposed to have a client in town again and that means long hours for me. It’s always pretty fun though.

The Village is coming out this week and I would LOVE to go see it. I’m very interested to see what the big twist is in this movie. I know that it can’t just be about some monsters living in the woods.

That’s it for now. I’ll write back later.

No more Mazda’s in the house…

Tuesday, July 13, 2004

Kristen and I went last night to purchase her a new car. Her current car was still running okay, but wasn’t reliable enough to risk driving it back and forth to Connersville every day. So, we replaced it.

We got a great deal on a silver, 2004 Honda Civic (see photo). It’s very nice (even though the only options it has are a CD player and AC). It looks much nicer than you’d expect a sub-$14,000 new car to look. Very stylish. We were able to get about $1,000 knocked off of the original price tag, which was nice. She’s very, very happy with the car so far.

I’m going to be working late hours again this week. Wednesday through Friday I’ll be working to tie up some loose ends on a big project that we’re working on at work. Saturday Kristen and I are going to the airport to pick up my brother and step-mom from the airport. They’re flying in from Arizona for 10 days.

There really isn’t much else going on. I’ve been working like crazy and haven’t had much time to do anything else. Hopefully that will change soon and I can get back to some personal projects I’ve been working on.

More later.

LONG work week

Thursday, July 8, 2004

We have a client in town this week for a week-long marathon work session. I’ve been working directly with him each day from 9:00 in the morning until around 11:30 or 12:00 each night. It’s taxing, but also a good amount of fun.

Last night we watched Signs while working and that really helps keep things fun. As much as I enjoy watching movies, it’s nice to be able to hear it playing in the background while working on the project.

We will be keeping this schedule up through Saturday and then I’ll have a day off just to start again on Monday. Fun stuff. Oh well, we can use the money…

One interesting bit of tentative news is that Kristen and I (as well as her parents) are planning a trip to Florida next summer. Kristen’s cousin (who was in our wedding) is getting married and we’ll be attending the wedding there. There’s also talk of going halves on a condo down there rather than staying in a motel, which would be great.k

I’ll be writing again soon.
