Family

Stepping out onto the ledge dividing life and life unknown I stare in awe of the beauty of what’s ahead but still fear the possibility of the drop-off that my mind tells me is there

The past should set me at ease but the tug of my desire to worry almost always wins out. Scared. Scared of losing. Scared of giving up. Scared of being engulfed by the unseen masses of people that might know what I do, and how.

I desire more. I hold the key to happiness in my future and yet fear turning it for the sharp, worn edges that might cut. Ironic. Learning to accept change and the uncertainty that comes with it is the only way I can make it. I guess.

And the people that will never understand why anyone would want to move away from what they’ve always had? What about them? What will they say? Sadly I’m surrounded on all sides (that matter) with people like this. The first to break the mold is the first to accept the blame, but those that come after the blamed are given to a life more enchanting.

Family is the only thing in life that matters? Not if you’re happy.

Just your standard update

Tuesday, April 22, 2003

Wow, it’s been a little while since my last post… Well, let’s see what’s new.

Shortly after trying Pansy’s sweater on her, we found out that Pansy has gained a little weight… She’s just a little too plump to comfortably wear the sweater. So, for now the sweater has no occupants. We’ve purchased her diet cat food to try and get her slimmed down so she can fit into her clothes. :)
Another pretty big item is that I’m now in the application/interviewing process for a school I’m trying to get into. The school is The Art Institute of ??? (we’ll wait and reveal that later…). It is a small (about 1,000 students), private college that looks to be a wonderful place to go. I’m working on getting the application filled out now, and I don’t think I’ll have much trouble getting in since I’ve already been to college and have my first degree.

This school is a private art school that just happens to have a Web & Multimedia Design program, which is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. I did my standard school research before deciding to start the application process and this school more than checks out. I’ve even spoken with a student from there via email and he really likes it there. I can’t wait.

This will mean a job change as well as a very large life change, but I believe that it is well worth it and will pay off in the end. :)
Well, let’s see, what else…

I’ve still being selling stuff on ebay. I’m getting pretty tired of doing it, but it is a great way to get rid of stuff. I’ve sold over 100 items in about a months time, so I’ve been to the post office more times than I care to think about. :)
I think I mentioned earlier that Kristen and I have started working with the youth group at our church. We’re really looking forward to getting going full swing on that project and trying to build things up.

Kristen, myself, my grandmother and my brother are all heading to Arizona in about a week from now, and I am SO excited! We leave on Friday, May 2nd and return the following Friday night. We’re going to be able to swim, hang out in the sun and spend time with family. It will be great.

Well, I should be finding out whether or now I’ll get in to the school I’m applying to soon. Once I do, I’ll post another entry.
